6/4/08: CAPITOL PURSUIT UPDATE -- In under four hours, 11,304 items were collected! All of the items were distributed to 10 local shelters by 6:30pm. This event surpassed its goal and will help many at-risk adults get on their feet and back to work! Congratulations to everyone who participated!

6/2/08: WORKING WARDROBES GOES TO WASHINGTON, DC FOR 5TH ANNUAL CAPITOL PURSUIT CLOTHING DRIVE!; Special attendees include Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and Men's Wearhouse Chairman George Zimmer -- In the best of what collaborative efforts can create, Working Wardrobes has partnered with the Men's Wearhouse and the American League of Lobbyists to host the fifth annual Capitol PurSuit drive. The June 4 drive encourages donors from Congressional offices, Caucuses and lobbying firms to bring gently-loved men's and women's business attire to the Rayburn House Office Building foyer from 10 am - 2 pm in a significant bipartisan effort to get thousands of Americans back to work. 5/30/08: DESIGNING WOMEN FASHION THE CHIC EVENT OF THE SUMMER; The Baubles, Bangles & Bags High Fashion High Tea will help Working Wardrobes get adults in crises back to work! -- Baubles, Bangles & Bags is presented by the Designing Women Guild in support of Working Wardrobes. This chic high tea will include boutique fashions, live and silent auction items and the fabulous success sotry of Marilyn Mulligan, a former Working Wardrobes client. Date: June 1, 2008. 4/14/08: NEW IMAGE, NEW OUTLOOK FOR 125 WOMEN DURING DAY OF SELF-ESTEEM; Event helping women transition from crises to self-sufficiency celebrates 18 years of service and success! -- On Sunday, May 4, Working Wardrobes will celebrate 18 years of serving women in crises when it hosts the 2008 Women's Day of Self-Esteem. A life-transofmring day, 125 women from 12 residential treatment programs and community college certification programs will receive working wardrobes, hair and make-up styleing, and a motivational seminar. The day culminates when the women put their new look to work by meeting potential employers such as FedEx, First American Corporation and Sprint during a career fair, often with offers of employment being extended on the spot. 2/13/08: CONGRESSWOMAN LORETTA SANCHEZ TO SPEAK AT WORKING WARDROBES' 6TH ANNUAL CINDERELLAS FOR LIFE EVENT!; Message to address the importance of education and making right choices -- Working Wardrobes has announced that Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez will be the keynote speaker at the 6th Annual Cinderellas for Life event on March 8. "Congresswoman Sanchez truly embodies the spirit of what one passionate and dedicated woman can accomplish, and the difference she can make in her own community," stated Jerri Rosen, CEO/Founder of Working Wardrobes. "Hearing the Congresswoman speak will be a very powerful experience for our Cinderellas and her example will empower them to create a big vision and pursue thier dreams." 1/25/2008: WORKING WARDROBES RECEIVES $55,000 in Year-end Grants; $30,000 in O.L. Halsell Foundation, CareCredit and PIMCO grants combine with $25,000 Ameriprise Financial grant to help fund expanding career services-In addition to a first-time $25,000 grant from Ameriprise Financial, Working Wardrobes has received $30,000 in grants to fund expanding career services. Continuing in the support they have demonstrated to at-risk adults for the past many years, O.L. Halsell Foundation provided a $20,000 grant while CareCredit and PIMCO each made year in contributions in the amount of $5,000. "These grants are vital to completing Working Wardrobes' mission. 1/24/2008: WORKING WARDROBES RECEIVES $25,000 Grant from Ameriprise Financial!; Grant to help fund newly opened Career Development Center -Working Wardrobes, a nonprofit organization helping men and women in crises re-enter the workforce through wardrobing and career development, has received a $25,000 grant from Ameriprise Financial to help fund the new Career Development Center. In addition to the financial support, Ameriprise Financial advisors will serve as facilitators of financial literacy workshops and be invited to volunteer during Working Wardrobes Days of Self-Esteem. 1/17/2008: 500 PROM DREAMS JUST WAITING TO COME TRUE!; Working Wardrobes is challenging the Orange County Community to collect a record 3,500 Prom and Party Dresses for the 6th Annual Cinderellas for Life -Working Wardrobes is reaching out to the community for help in making an unprecedented 500 dreams come true for foster youth and young teens from families in economic need. During the 2008 Cinderellas for Life, invited teens will receive a prom dress and all the accessories, attend etiquette classes and workshops on self-esteem and goal-setting, and participate in a first-time "Passport to Your Future" education fair. This all-day event is made possible by the generous sponsorships of Cache, FedEx and Cookie Lee; more than 500 event volunteers; hundreds of donors; and scores of people who step forward to host collection drives for prom and party dresses and all the accessories. "Very few people ever have the opportunity to make such a profound impact in young woman's life by such a simple gesture. We offer career-readiness and life skills workshops, wardrobing and personal grooming services and access to the Career Development Center (CDC). The CDC features a career counselor for one-on-one consultations, employment opportunities with corporate partners, internet access for job searches, resume development tools, and a resource library. Working Wardrobes has grown to serve more than 30,000 adults experiencing a variety of life crises. These include homelessness, catastrophic illness, alcohol and substance abuse, traumatic financial losses, and others.
