Veterans Success Event
The Veterans Success Event is a powerful and motivational day designed to support our veterans who have valliently served their country in their transition from military service into the civilian workplace. The event includes a variety of complimentary services:
- Motivational seminar
- Personal grooming services
- Wardrobe selection
- Employer panel
- Resource center
Why do we hold this event?
According to the Department of Labor, since 2005 the unemployment among veterans age 20-24 has increased by nearly 20%. That translates to approximately 40,000 unemployed young veterans! Many veterans initially find it difficult to complete successfullyin the job market and this event will address many barriers to success, while providing some of the tools necessary to alleviate these challenges.
In partnership with the Orange County Employment Development Department and Camp Pendleton, we will serve 50 male veterans returning from operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
There are many ways you can support this event!
- Volunteer to work the event
- Host a clothing/accessory drive at your company, with your civic organization or in your neighborhood. High quality men's shoes and belts are always especially needed; along with plus size dress slacks and dress shirts, jackets and ties.
- Recruit your friends and associates to create lasting memories serving others!
- Arrange to exhibit at our Resource Center or participate in the Employer Panel
- Donate men's toiletries to fill our gift bags for these heroes!
