Earlier this summer, Working Wardrobes received the honor of being selected 2017 Nonprofit of the Year for the 74th Assembly District, a recognition we are still beaming with joy about. Assemblyman Matthew Harper, former Mayor of the City of Huntington Beach, selected our organization as the recipient saying, “I’m proud to recognize Working Wardrobes, as the 2017 Nonprofit of the Year. Their dedication to the local community, helping veterans and enhancing the quality of life for community residents, makes them the perfect choice.” On Wednesday, June 28th, we joined 95 fellow chosen nonprofits at a luncheon event at the State Capitol where nonprofits were honored by their by legislators for their achievements and success, selflessly helping others every day.
Since then, the award arrived at our office and found a permanent home. This year is the 27th anniversary of our organization and it is because of this type of recognition that we are able to continue to provide services for men, women, and veterans looking to get back to work. With support from our community, we offer resume building, customer service training, interview tips, and a handful of other career services for our clients.
All of this would not be possible without the help of our community, volunteers, and corporate sponsors. It is because of you all that we are able to wake up every day and help others. In our 27 years of service, we have changed the lives of over 90,000 men, women, young adults, and veterans overcoming difficult challenges.
If you would like to be involved with Working Wardrobes, we would greatly appreciate your time and commitment. From corporate CSR days, volunteering in our resale stores, holding a professional clothing drive, or helping out in our career or donation center, we’d love to have you!
